We had a very good Do Dues Day and are havinga great year. If you haven't joined yet, the dues are $10 and checks can be deposited at the front desk at the club house. Please consider joining or rejoining us.
The community has created a Veterans Memorial at Inspiration Hill. It is located above the Dog Park by the Overflow Parking Lot. The site is decorated with Commemorative bricks along the pathway to the top as well as on the top of the hill. If you would like to purchase a brick for this memorial, they will be $75 apiece. These bricks do not have to be for Veterans only. To order bricks click on the link below and fill in the information on the attached flier. Then turn it in to the HOA Office.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
ISSUES OF THE BUGLE AVAILABLE ON LINE!
From the HOME page drop down menu select the latest available BUGLE in a PDF format.
NEED A FLAG
If your flag is a little tattered or you would like a new one, contact Tom Brennan to order one. He also will arrange to have it installed. Flying a flag is a good way to display your patriotism, but a worn out, faded or frayed flag kind of blunts the message. Worn out flage can be taken to the front desk at the clubhouse and they will be taken to Camp Pendleton for proper disposal.
IF YOU HAVE FURNITURE TO DONATE
Below is a link to the Pendleton Rotary Club for people wishing to donate furniture. The arrangements are done on line, the Marines bring the truck and the troops to do all the work and leave the donor with a tax deductible receipt. Pendleton families then get to select the "free" furniture meeting their needs. Everybody wins!
Veterans Shout Out
What is going on around us that is of interest to Veterans.
Our first meeting in a very long time is happening in Abravanel Hall at 3:00pm on July 22nd. Our speaker is going to be Steve Dilley who will be talking about Vet Art. Some of our members have participated in this program and so this should be a very interesting presentation.
Our speaker will be our own Vista resident, Alex Poddoubnyi. Alex, a Ukrainian (not Russian!!) defected from the Soviet Union in 1991 while ferrying cargo through San Diego. He is an accomplished pilot and successful businessman. In the Soviet Union he was very famous and admired during his flying career. He is the youngest Antonov test pilot ever and was one of the first crews over Chernobyl. He was the first Antonov 225 test pilot; yes, that big airplane. Come and meet an amazing guy.
